Recall that On 12 September 2014 a guesthouse collapsed in Lagos killing
at least 84 South Africans. Two extra storeys were being built when it collapsed
and rescue officials cited this action, without corresponding
reinforcement of the building's foundations,
to be the likely cause. However Joshua claimed
a small plane had circled over the building four times before it collapsed
and it may have been an attempt to kill him. Rescue officials also
stated that they experienced hostility by members of the congregation
to their rescue efforts
The Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN) Prophet, T B Joshua,
will testify before at the coroner trial on November 5. The inquest
was set up by the Lagos State Government to question the recent
collapse of a building within his church premises,
which left 115 people (Mostly South African) dead.
The coroner, Magistrate O.A Komolafe stated that T.B Joshua
must appear before the inquest to testify about what happened
during the church building collapse.
The Coroner stated this at a friday's sitting of the inquest.
“The court has summoned him, let him come and tell us what he knows.
He cannot sit over there and be sending words to us that he cannot come.
The court has said that for the purpose of what we are doing that he should
come over.” Komolafe said.
Komolafe gave the order after two witnesses from the Lagos State Fire Service
and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority,
Adebayo Musiliu Olayinka and Bamidele Wasiu testified respectively before the inquest.
